50 Years of Struggle: Youth Driving Economics, Education and Social Change - Grades 9-12
Join us as we welcome Bernice A. King, daughter of human rights leaders Dr. Martin L. King, Jr. and his wife, Coretta Scott King; Secretary Arne Duncan, U.S. Department of Education; Hugh Price, from the U.S. Department of Education; and Dr. Kaya Henderson, Chancellor, DC Public Schools who will give opening remarks. Panel participants include Angela Farris Watkins, Associate Professor and Vice Chair of Psychology, Spelman College; Ambassador Andrew Young; William Leventhal, Civil Rights Activist; Carolyn McKinstry, a survivor of the 16th Street Baptist Church bombing in Birmingham, Alabama; Doris Crenshaw; Sinclair Blue; and a student leader from School Without Walls. The forum will be moderated by Kevin Powell, political activist and writer.
